Weighting:
Easy to drill and add ballast belly

Drill appropriate size hole (1/2" dia) under the belly, about 1.5~2.0" inches from the tail
Add between 5~10 gms of weight. Increase weight for a slow sinking popper
Seal with a filler and sand once dried
Adjust the weight to make the lure sit between a flat position to a 30 degree angle tail down into water depending on the fishing needs.
Action:
A short retrieve followed by a quick pop/jerk creates a circular splash of water attracting game fish.
(or) A varying slow retrieve creates a surface movement of water
